Karen is a Senior Associate in our Private Client practice group with over 20 years' experience. She has a particular focus on estate and succession planning, and estate administration.
Karen has considerable experience in drafting wills (standard through to complex testamentary trust wills), Enduring Power of Attorney, Enduring Power of Guardianship and other associated documents, as well as advising on trust documents.
Karen also has broad experience working to protect the legal interests of vulnerable persons under a disability (pursuant to the Guardianship and Administration Act 1990) having worked as a government lawyer for 11 years. In her role, Karen appeared at the State Administrative Tribunal, attended Family Court, dealt with Australian Financial Complaints Authority complaints against banks, and was involved in trust and estate disputes (including Family Provision Act claims in the Supreme Court of Western Australia).
