Jackson McDonald shines in the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Awards11 June 2018
Jackson McDonald is delighted to announce that we are one of 26 firms to have been ranked in the Overall: Most Innovative Law Firms (Asia-Pacific) category of the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Awards.
The firm also took out fourth place in the Business of Law (Australia) category.
The recognition within these prestigious awards is an example of Jackson McDonald’s agility – demonstrated by the development of the Get Paid Quick web tool that enables construction clients to lodge legal claims to resolve their payment disputes faster, and cheaper under Western Australia’s Construction Contracts Act (Act)
“We are thrilled with this recognition. The idea was born after we noticed that smaller subcontractors were often not bothering to use the dispute resolution machinery under the Act and were writing off claims of up to $50,000 because they felt it was either too complex and time-consuming to prepare themselves or too expensive to hire a lawyer,” said construction partner, Tom Jacobs.
“The use of technology and automation to deliver increased efficiencies, at both firm and client levels, is a focus of the firm and we look forward to developing new tools that drive increased value.”
